A tote scoop6 bet is available each week across six Saturday races, referred to as legs, designated by the Tote. The legs may be from one or more race meetings that day.

Rules Summary
# The lowest level of selection is one line of six horses, one in each leg, which costs the minimum unit stake of £2. However, any number of horses in each leg can be selected to make a permutation with each line of the permutation costing £2.
# Bets are accepted up to ‘off’ of the first of the six tote scoop6 legs.
# Each £2 sccop6 stake unit goes into a central pool where it is divided into a Win Fund, a Place Fund and a Bonus Fund in the ratio of 7:4:3 respectively.
# The Win Fund dividend is won by all players who have selected all six winning horses and each winner of the Win Fund is eligible to register, via the Bonus Race Hotline (see Rules Detail on totesport website for telephone number), to qualify and play for the Bonus Fund the following Saturday.
# The Place Fund dividend is paid to all players who have selected a horse placed in each of the six legs.
# The Bonus Fund dividend is won by any player who, having won the Win Fund and subsequently registered to qualify, selects the winner of the totepool nominated Bonus Fund race on the following Saturday.

Tregoning Stunned By Mubtaker Death - Yahoo! Sport UK
Mubtaker, runner-up to Dalakhani in the 2003 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, has died after suffering multiple fractures on the gallops in Lambourn.

Marcus Tregoning’s popular nine-year-old shattered his lower off-hind during a routine piece of work on Farncombe Down.

Attempts were made to save him but the decision, taken on veterinary advice, was made for the entire to be humanely destroyed.

“Everyone at our yard is devastated by Mubtaker’s death and it will take us time to get over it,” Tregoning told the Racing Post.

“We adored him for his courage, his consistency and his wonderful outlook on life.

“I doubt I’ll see another similar to Mubtaker during my career.”

The Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned chestnut was a winner of 13 races from 31 starts and earned connections over £700,000 in prize money.

His final success came in the Group Three John Porter Stakes at Newbury - a course he won at six times - when he showed characteristic battling qualities to hold off Munsef by a neck in April.

Champion jockey Jamie Spencer leapt to the head of the betting for the London Clubs Trophy for top jockey at Royal Ascot after a treble on the second day.

Spencer booted home Red Evie in the finale to complete a 213-1 three-timer but it came at the expense of a four-day suspension.

Earlier victories on Cesare in the Royal Hunt Cup and Soviet Song in the Windsor Forest have seen his odds tumble in the race for the leading jockey to 2-7 (from 5-2) with totesport and 2-5 (from 11-4) with William Hill.

People often ask me about rule 4 deductions what they are and when they apply.

Well, a Rule 4 comes into effect if an intended runner is withdrawn from a race prior to the start. A rule 4 deduction is made on the return from all bets made before the withdrawal and if the bookmakers are unable to form a new market SP (starting price) bets also have the deduction.

Rule 4 Deductions

3/10 or shorter = 75p in the £

2/5 to 1/3 = 70p in the £

8/15 to 4/9 = 65p in the £

4/5 to 4/6 = 55p in the £

20/21 to 5/6 = 50p in the £

Evens to 6/5 = 45p in the £

5/4 to 6/4 = 40p in the £

13/8 to 7/4 = 35p in the £

15/8 to 9/4 = 30p in the £

5/2 to 3/1 = 25p in the £

10/3 to 4/1 = 20p in the £

9/2 to 11/2 = 15p in the £

6/1 to 9/1 = 10p in the £

10/1 to 14/1 = 5p in the £

Over 14/1 = No Deductions

Godolphin who suspended operations following a dismal spell of form have entered Librettist in the Victoria Antiques Conditions Stakes at Nottingham on Wednesday.

Librettist a son of Danzig has been off course since finishing 4th in the 2004 Dewhurst stakes.

Dispite the poor run of results the Godolphin team are still mystified as to why their horses are performing so badly.
