Champion jockey Jamie Spencer leapt to the head of the betting for the London Clubs Trophy for top jockey at Royal Ascot after a treble on the second day.
Spencer booted home Red Evie in the finale to complete a 213-1 three-timer but it came at the expense of a four-day suspension.
Earlier victories on Cesare in the Royal Hunt Cup and Soviet Song in the Windsor Forest have seen his odds tumble in the race for the leading jockey to 2-7 (from 5-2) with totesport and 2-5 (from 11-4) with William Hill.
“He has such a good book of rides tomorrow that we think he could have the title sewn up before the end of the week,” said Damian Walker of totesport.
